First and foremost, keep all chocolate and candy out of reach. Chocolate contains theobromine, which is toxic to dogs and cats. Even small amounts can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and even death. Another potential hazard during Easter is the Easter lily. These beautiful flowers are highly toxic to cats and can cause kidney failure if ingested. Keep lilies and other toxic plants out of the reach of your pets, and consider using silk or artificial flowers as decorations instead.

Easter eggs can also pose a danger to pets. Hard-boiled eggs can cause an upset stomach if ingested in large quantities, and raw eggs can contain salmonella. Keep eggs out of reach and dispose of them properly.
